Keli Watson

Keli Watson is a photographer based in northern British Columbia, Canada. She grew up in London, Ontario, coming to BC in 2001 and is proud to call Prince George home.

Always drawn to creating, photography became her particular passion when she discovered black and white film photography and the darkroom in a high school technical course. She worked as photographer, photo lab technician and as editor for the university paper and yearbook in her undergrad years. While photography then took a back seat to her career as an archaeologist, she continued to be passionate about making images and to pursue continuing education with college and on-line courses in photography, image production and editing.

Concepts of contrast, connection and pattern in the natural world, environmental portraits and travel are her most common subjects. She is inspired to find depth in two dimensions and to capture the soul of the moment and a sense of the experience. As an anthropologist her imagery is often inspired by her love of culture and how it impacts and influences space and place.

While she has been making imagery for over twenty years, she is starting a new chapter in her journey as an artist by putting her work out in the world and sharing her vision.
